As you are aware i am concerned that the use of Basalt is inappropriate on the car parks. Basalt is not inert and in several parts of the world is a recommended agricultural fertilizer, because it is base-rich and slow release.
I visited Pig Bush on Saturday 5 september 2009, there has been some run off of the dust with the recent rain,into the water courses and the dust is blowing across the surrounding heathland.As you might be aware the Nail fungus Poronia punctata is established in the area, i understand that NE have a special responsibility for this species under biodiversity Action plan.
